Madrid, 16 September 2026.- Indra has unveiled SQUALL, its new low-cost cruise missile designed for mass attacks against targets located hundreds of kilometres away, at Unvex, the leading drone trade fair held in Spain, which is taking place this year in San Javier, Murcia.

This system provides a precision-strike solution against strategic targets located in the rear, such as command-and-control centres, air defence systems and high-value military infrastructure.

Its low-altitude flight capability enables it to evade enemy radars and operate with a high degree of stealth. This is complemented by its precision and effectiveness in target acquisition. To achieve this, it is equipped with different guidance and navigation systems designed to withstand attempts at jamming or spoofing and reach the intended target.

SQUALL also offers enormous flexibility for integration into land or naval platforms. It is a solution designed for launch from ramps, containers or tactical vehicles.

As a low-cost system compared with a conventional missile, it can be used both in surgical strikes involving a small number of units and in mass attacks in which large numbers of this type of missile are launched in a coordinated manner to saturate enemy defences. The high value of the assets being attacked and of the missiles required to try to counter them also provides a major advantage in rapidly wearing down the adversary’s resources and economic capacity.

Its design is also supported by a reliable and resilient national supply chain, based on components over which sovereignty and control are maintained, to ensure the ability to scale production in times of crisis, when international supply chains may be disrupted and access to certain materials may become more difficult.

The new SQUALL cruise missile thus joins Indra’s portfolio of solutions, which includes counter-drone systems in fixed configuration, to protect bases and critical infrastructure, and in mobile configuration, to escort convoys and units in the field; its DRIZZLE effector drone, designed to intercept drones and strike light assets at distances of up to 130 kilometres; and the Tarsis family of drones, capable of attacking tactical targets and providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, as well as target designation. All these systems have been designed to be integrated within a multi-layered integrated air defence system and to operate within a combat cloud that increases the speed of decision-making and enhances reaction, intelligence and effectiveness. In addition, the company is progressively incorporating artificial intelligence functionalities to strengthen the capabilities of all these systems.
