Patria has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with Polish company Bydgoskie Zakłady Elektromechaniczne BELMA S.A. to evaluate potential cooperation related to BELMA’s products within Patria TRACKX armoured tracked vehicle solution. The purpose of the cooperation is to exchange relevant information to assess and pursue opportunities for combining Patria TRACKX with BELMA’s modular mine-laying system. The objective is to support future sales opportunities, develop competitive customer offerings and identify mutually beneficial business opportunities.

The cooperation will support Patria’s aim of expanding armoured vehicle cooperation with Polish defence companies. A preliminary solution combining the Patria TRACKX flatbed variant with BELMA’s mine-laying system could offer a mobile, adaptable and competitive capability for selected international markets.

“This Memorandum of Understanding is an important step in exploring how Patria TRACKX could serve as a modern tracked platform for specialised mission systems. Together with BELMA, we see strong potential to develop a competitive and flexible solution for customers in targeted international markets,” says Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President of Patria’s Protected Mobility business area.

Patria TRACKX, developed through EU-funded FAMOUS programme, is a new tracked vehicle, designed to meet evolving battlefield mobility, protection and adaptability requirements. Its tracked mobility, payload capacity and flexible platform architecture make the flatbed variant a strong potential platform for integrating mission systems such as BELMA’s modular mine-laying solution, a fully automated minefield deployment solution capable of laying up to 600 anti-tank mines in less than 20 minutes.
